I was wondering if anyone has ever used one of these tubing notchers and if so what did you think of it.I am needing a tubing notcher and am trying to figure out the best way to go without sending me to the poor house.
Reply:No on using that one.I just use a hole saw without the center bit and my drill press. About as cheep as you can get.Me!
Reply:I have one. It is fast for 90 degree notches and large volume of notching. Notch angles though it takes some trial and error. It works for me. Howerver there are plenty of other ways to notch if however especially if money is an issue. It is not what I would use if you need an architectural finish or you plan on tig welding the joint. I have had mine about 5 yrs. I build pipe railing with it.
Reply:My harbor freight holesaw cheapie does the trick. When it started to get some slop in it, I replaced the bronze bushing and it was fine. Buying good holesaws saves money in the long run.
