I recently bought a maxstar 150 stl. Is it possible to attach a wire feeder, and if so, how is the performance? I despreatly need a small shop mig for fitting up projects by myself.Miller TrailBlazer 251Miller HF-250-1Miller MaxStar 150 STLHyperTherm PowerMax 380 plasmaLincoln PowerMig 180Millermatic 252Miller Diversion 180

Reply:Not exactly sure what the filler wire/ tung. comment implied? Maybe I wasn't clear in my org. post. My trailblazer will except opt. mig feeder attachment thru 14 pin connector. Wondered if maxstar could do same thru 6 pin connector. When working alone, fitting\tacking up projects is much simpler and less time consuming using a squirt gun compared to tig, frees up one hand for fitting and doesnt require the constent use of shield(helment)......Thank you for taking time to reply and the info, this site is the greatest. Reply:Thanks, understand now. Question, when purchasing your maxstar, did you buy the complete kit,(case, tig, etc.}, and if so, did it include the rheostat thumb dial, or did you have to purchase it seperately?Miller TrailBlazer 251Miller HF-250-1Miller MaxStar 150 STLHyperTherm PowerMax 380 plasmaLincoln PowerMig 180Millermatic 252Miller Diversion 180
Reply:i gotta agree trying to use tig for tacking is a pain..why not use stick on that machine?
Reply:The Maxstar doesn't come with a thumb or foot pedal control. I wish they did as I was thinking of getting one.Miller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.

Reply:If i were you I would get yourself something like a Hobart Handler 145 or some other 110v mig. They are cheap enough at somewhere around $500ish.

Reply:http://www.readywelder.comIt will attach to your 150. Cost about the same as a small mig, though.
