I have a lincoln power mig 180 c and i am looking to replace the gun does anyone know of a good upgrade to the one that came with machine. I would like to have a tweco possibly that i could just hook up and weld without having to change ends or anything.paul
Reply:Weldingdepot.com.  They have a Tweeco "style" gun for cheap.  I have a 300 or 400 amp one and I like it.DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:I second this; I got a Tweeco 12' gun to replace the short 8' lead on my miggy, and I have been very happy with it. 12' is not so long that the wire has trouble feeding, and there is enough lead for me to work on most things without carrying the welder up onto my project. And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
Reply:I have a miller, but but found many guns on ebay for much cheaper than the online welding supply places. I saved over a hundred bucks. Also, I have previously purchased welders and supplies from cyberweld.com and enjoyed the experience.Bill
Reply:That machine uses the Magnum 100L and it has it's own back end connector. You might be able to find another brand to fit it but do real good research. You can't plug just any Lincoln compatible Tweco into it, and I haven't seen a Tweco gun for the small Lincolns.weldingsupply.com sells the Magnum 100L for under 100 bucks. All of their Lincoln products ship direct from Lincoln. I think Bernard is making guns for the small machines now (could be wrong on the manufacturer as it's been a while since I saw them) and you won't be able to get one for near the price on the Lincoln. If it's anything like the #3 Tweco I just replaced with a Magnum 300 the Tweco definitely isn't the upgrade model. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. Reply:I have the Bernards on both my MIG machines and they are great. They may be more than you want to spend but I think they are the best IMO.
Reply:The only Lincoln Gun I've used is whatever comes with the PowerMig 350.  I thought it was a nicer gun than the various Tweeco's that I've used.  I use almost exclusively Binzel's now.  That's what the shop at work has, and that's what my machine at home has.  I find them much nicer than the Tweeco's they replaced at work.
Reply:My vote would be for the Bernards.  The Q200 would be a nice upgrade, but I'm not sure they offer a back end for your particular machine.  Check out their website and/or give them a call.  You won't find nicer people to deal with.My MM251 came with Miller's M-25.  I now use the Bernard Q300 and I haven't found a gun I like better.  Also picked up a Q400 off the internet, which I use almost exclusively for spray.  Great, well built, durable guns.Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc.
Reply:The Magnum 300 I have is specifically for the LN-25 and it is built to last in harsh environments. My partner whines and moans when he has to use it because it is quite a bit heavier than the #3 Tweco on his Hefty, LOL. I'm pretty sure the gun will retire me, lol, provided nothing like a 544 John Deere or some such decides to run over it like they did my hoses last week. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship.
