I saw somewhere the idea of putting a sheet of then metal over wood or other non conductive material and then cutting it with a plasma cutter? Anyone tried this? If please give details.
Reply:Wont really work. The wood will burn, but the mass of it wont just cleanly get out of the way like metal does.Makes a smoky, smoldering mess.I use plywood for templates for plasma cutting sometimes, and doesnt burst into flame, but it chars.Lasers, on the other hand, work just fine on wood and plastic. So do waterjets.
Reply:waterjet, we do it all the time |
