Hi all,i'm writing a market reserch for my university. I have to analize the micro resistance welding head Market.Unfurtunatly i find only 2 main players MacGregor Welding Systems and Miyachi group (Unitek and Peco).Do u know others important players?Have u a general idea about this market?Thanks a lot

Reply:This micro welding technique is used to attach tiny wires from a semiconductor (integrated circuit) too the external connector pins.   You might try contacting some domestic chip producers such as Texas Instruments, Intel, or Analog Devices.    You may have to do a real song and dance for the information you want…these people are real tight with sharing information.   I honestly don’t think this is the right forum for this welding process.   Most folks around these parts like to burn steel…arh…..arh……arh…Good luck
Reply:What university are you at? If there is an electrical/computer eng department, get contacts  with whomever is in semiconductor fabrication there (or at another university, if yours doesn't have a fab group). They get a lot of good contacts, though often not the most modern equipment. (we had a great setup for lead bonding that was less out of date than the manual aligner, but more out of date than the oven. Salesmen were in just about every day to show us stuff we had no hope of buying)
