Miller diversion 165

I ve been looking for a decent priced ac/dc tig welder.  I found a brand new diversion 165 online for about 1200.00 bucks.  Anybody got any experience with this welder?  I wanna get my feet wet with some aloooooooooooominum  welding.  Is this welder the ticket?..............Thanks for the help RichLincoln 255XT Power Mig                                                                    Lincoln Precision Tig 225Hypertherm Powermax 30

Reply:I have had a Diversion since October. It suits my hobby needs perfectly. I've found that it welds aluminum quite well, but keep in mind that I am the opposite of an expert!

Reply:I used one at miller, great little welder. Its about exactly what a Tig welder should be for a guy wanting to fabricate from about 1/4" and under. Its probably really at home doing 3/16 and under though, but with pre-heating even castings should be doable.

Reply:I have one and am happy with it.  The majority of the aluminum I weld is .125 and it does a fine job for what I need.edited to add that I bought a pedal for it.Last edited by mjb; 02-02-2009 at 08:50 PM.
