What Should I Do?

I have $300 burning a hole in my pocket.  I went to the gun show today but couldn't find a gun I wanted so I'm undecided how to spend this money.Gun or Welding Stuff?I don't really need either, but I am a gun nut, and somewhat obsessed with welding.  The way money is around my house is that if I come across any extra money, and I don't spend it right away, it goes to something like bills or fast food.  I just can't decide what I want to buy.  What would you do in my situation?My Babies:MillerMatic 185Thermal Arc 300SHobart StickMate AC/DC 235/160Dalex Werke Spot WelderOh and the wife and kids are important too!

I'd also toss in single, but have seen a lot of people married with kids that age do the same thing.Now while I will agree that impulse spending will help the country recover for the economic situation, it's this sort of thinking that put us here. People spending money because they want items not need them, and worry about bills later.You might as well send it to DesertRider33. I'm willing to bet he has plans for it that include spending it on his new work truck or buying some item needed for his business. That's not a waste, that's an investment.

Reply:You can do both: weld together a zip gun for you own use.  Legal in many states.Good practice for when all the gun stores are shutdown by the gummit.

Reply:i work at a golf club and see people all the time that buy stuff just to spend money.  i look at when i play golf compared to how they play golf.  i get in free for workin there, play my golf, maybe buy a snack and half way through when the cart comes by, and go home.  the "other" people there will buy range balls, snacks, lunch, drinks, balls, dinner, and a 6-pack.  and this is people that do it EVERY weekend.  i am 17 yrs. old, and am living from paychech to paycheck, and it's a big deal when i get the chance to buy new steel, or a new tool.  if i was to have $300 on hand, i would first bring my bank deposit back up to $300, so i can make interest again,  and then put some into stock, to maybe make more money.   i know nothing about you, and am not trying to make you mad, but people that practice impulse spending like that make me mad.  i am positive that if i had everything i needed, and more money to waste i would make sure my family was well off and had what they needed, then help out other people in need.
