Anybody know what I can make out of some old leaf spring steel.  I hate to let it go to the scrap yard, but not sure what it would be good for.My Babies:MillerMatic 185Thermal Arc 300SHobart StickMate AC/DC 235/160Dalex Werke Spot WelderOh and the wife and kids are important too!
Reply:I understand they are good for knife blades. I had one for years I was going to try that with but don't know where it ended up.
Reply:You can make forging or smithing tools out of them. They make excellent pritchels (punches).
Reply:I had a customer that brought me some truck springs to make him some auger teeth for his post hole digger. He swore by them, I thought they cut, drilled, and ground too easy to last in our rocks in this area.
Reply:If you have a garden tractor and a garden, you can make a set of harrow teeth out of them, or a new pair of shoes for a snow blower or snow blade.in olden times, they made a good working adz out of spring steel, chisels, scrapers, knifes, the list goes on!#1. Reply:cut a notch in a 1 1/2 " to 2" pipe and then fit the leaf spring in it and weld it. you'll have a cheap/strong prybar.

Reply:I'll bet they'd be good for cutting scrap tires...Because a broken leaf will sure cut a sidewall open when it walks sideways.
