(not sure what happened to the first thread I started)A customer wants some new burners for his bbq, and it would cost a small fortune if I make them from scratch.  So I'm wondering if anyone would know where to get ahold of them.  They are 21" overall, 1" OD tube with a 1/2" opening on the end. Reply:Any idea who made the grill?
Reply:It was totally custom.. Those burners sat in a ss pan in the bottom with brick bordering it and a grill on top with lids... So no clue.Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.
Reply:The burners don't look custom, so my guess it was an off the shelf item they used. Duh...Near me there are 3 or 4 specialty fireplace/grill stores. I'd see if you can find one in your area and take the part in. They may be able to quickly identify the brand OR may have a suitable generic replacement for it. I've managed to find a few unknown parts that way, or at least suitable replacements for discontinued parts. The specialty places will be better than say Depo or Lowes. If nothing else you can get an idea what a similar item would cost new. You might be surprised at what some of those things cost for top end grills. It might be worth your time to build from scratch.
Reply:Try a commercial oven/grill parts supplier that serves the restaurant industry.  I'll bet it's a regular item used on commercial cooking equipment."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:I've got stuff from Tejas Smokers. I don't see anything like that on his site, but the guy there is really cool and might be able to help you. You might be able to retrofit some more conventional burners."We live in an age when unnecessary things are our only necessities. "   - Oscar WildeMaxstar STL150Eagle CPM30 Bender
