Hi all,I was looking for the Lincoln Procedure Handbook and found it, of course, at the Lincoln website for $25 + shipping. FarmerSamm highly recommends this so I bought it. https://ssl.lincolnelectric.com/linc...asp?prodnum=PHHOWEVER, do not go to Amazon to get yours. They only have used books at this time and start at the prices of $55 and upward. FYISteveJunkYard Tools .com
Reply:Amazon can be real pricey. The best used book site is Abebooks.  They tell the condition of the book, and other stuff.  The prices are excellent.  Check it out!!!"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:I may have given a bad tip.  I just checked out the 14th edition used.  It was higher than I paid thru my LWS when I bought it.  Lowest price was 46 dollars.  I think I got it for less, or the same, new.BUT............  The 12th edition is going for around 7.00 + shipping(4.00).  I would imagine that for basics it's a good buy.  Most processes haven't changed that much over the years.  I'd snag one.  The publishing date is 1973.  In terms of welding basics, that's not too old.  And a great price"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:When I was in school the textbooks cost damn near as much as the tuition for one class.  If you bought used, the things were so highlighted that each page looked like a neon signI mean some of the previous owners highlighted everything on the page!!!!!!  Made reading a messHow do royalties work these days??  I think it used to be a set/negotiated rate per word for the manuscript, then a percentage thereafter based on sales."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:BTW........I'm an old fashioned Kaynes type, but I gotta admit the only thing that got us out of the Great Depression was the Second World War.  So I don't know if any of the theories are valid"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:There better be some damn demand for economics literature!!!!  We're in one Hell of a mess now.  It's gonna take someone to figure out how to get us out of it."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:The problem with economists is that that if you ask 10 how to fix the economy you'll get 10 different answers.  There are alot of experts out there now selling different fixes, but I would like to know how many of these guys were warning the public of the banking and realestate problems 12-18 months ago?I guess I better not go too far down this road.... .
