Hey guys I'm new to this forum so hello all. I have a 24 (diameter) inch pipe and I need to close in both ends to make a bbq. Metal is 1/4 think and I plan on making 2 round pieces for each end. My question is what is the best way; a) Cut the pieces to a 24 in diameter and v out then weld in the v. b) Make the pieces an 1/8 smaller and weld the natural groove. c) make the pieces so the fit inside the pipe and weld. thanks for the help. art.
Reply:Any of your methods will work fine for the intended purpose. I tend to cut the ends a bit smaller and weld it like a corner joint. It allows you to weld the joint and have a nice smooth rounded edge after clean up.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:Great thanks a lot for the help, art.
Reply:What Hammack said, job done.I'd rather be hunting........USE ENOUGH HEAT.......Drifting around Aussie welding more pipe up, for something different.....wanting to get home. |
