Hey guys....trying to fix my mower deck, hit a stump and had to cut out part of the deck....buying some 16g to fill the gap probably 12x4"...... it has a curve to it and also a small curved lip at the bottom...would mapp gas in the yellow bottle get hot enough to bend this metal easily?
Reply:For what you are going to do take a hammer and an anvil or heavy piece of steel and bend it like you want. You shouldn't have to heat 16ga to bend sheet metal. If it was going on a mower deck I would go with something along the lines of 12ga personally. Pictures would definitely help offer advice for what you are doing.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
