Reply:It's another government "I got ya" fee. Fee is charged for transporting what is considered to be hazardous materials. Google it, and you'll be amazed at what some of the fees are. Every time I swap out a gas cylinder at my LWS, I'm charged that fee. Buy a box of rods, fee.I own all my cylinders, except one. I had a big aluminum MIG weld job come in last year. Customer I do this welding for drops his dump trailer off on Friday night and picks it up on Monday a.m. I checked my Argon cylinder. Not enough gas left to weld all day. But, I wasn't going to take a 1/4 full cylinder in for exchange either. Argon costs too much. So, I leased a cylinder. Cost $70 for a year, plus contents charge. Anyway, I wound up not using all of the large Argon cylinder's contents. Came time for lease renewal. I was charged the yearly fee, PLUS a $9.00 cylinder maintenance fee. WTF. I called Airgas, fee was removed.Pays to check your invoices.
