Hey guysJust went through my first roll of 0.35 wire and changed to a new one. Theres few feet of old wire that doesnt get pushed through the feeder so I'm wondering if you guys have any clever uses for it. I didnt want to risk using the front end of the new roll to push that last length of wire through the nozzle, in case it gets stuck or jammed.Someone needs to make an auto-darkening Predator welding helmet...complete with dreads and multiple spectra of IR vision.
Reply:yea i dont really think it would have much of a chance of pushing the old wire out. at work i just coil it up and save it for wiring things together. alot of it gets used to hang our test pieces from for heat treating. you'll come up with something. at home i use flux core so it just snaps when you bend it. not good for anything really
Reply:No, you definately don't want to attempt to 'push' the remaining old wire thru with the new that's for sure.Uses?1) Small TIG filler rod (or O/A welding).2) Hang parts to paint.3) Use for welding cable insulation restraint.4) Whatever you need a piece of wire for.Just to name a few.Last edited by duaneb55; 08-13-2009 at 09:44 PM.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!

Reply:Don't get too scotchy. Just think how many feet of wire all those stubs from stick welding would add up to. MikeOl' Stonebreaker "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw
Reply:I use remaining wire to tie my motocross bike grips with and use it for safety wire on small bolts. |
