Reply:Hello aslippy, if you follow the link that rmkrider1 supplied you will see that there are a number of different bed types available. In the wonderful world of field welding and service there are a great number of different applications of trucks and equipment and most of them are specific to certain geological areas as well as applications. I believe the bed on the truck that you included pictures of is mainly a pipeliner type of application. If this is the sort of work that you are going to go after then this is likely right up your alley for purpose and use. If you have other types of work or applications in mind you might want to spell those out and a lot of folks on the forum can likely give you ideas for the types and layouts of truck beds that might serve your purposes best. In my area a great number of portable rigs are involved with heavy construction and logging and as such they have service cranes, large portable welders, onboard air compressors, lighting and power generation capabilities, large hand tool selections, parts inventories, jacking capabilities, and other associated capabilities to service large construction and logging equipment. This would differ from many other types of services and areas that you might run into if you lived in a petrochemical area or oilfield type environment. You likely get the idea. Just a bit more for you to consider. Best regards, Allanaevald |
