Millermatic 10a

I just got a millermatic 10a to put on my miller dialarc hf.  Never used one before so I have a few questions about hooking it up. I figure that you just take the positive lead from the powersource to the lead on my cable to my gun on the wire feeder.  And just use the ground on the power source to the work being welded. I know this is a stupid question but do you use the wire feeder as ac or dc.  I would appreciate any help you guys give me.
Reply:I was told the dialarc had a wire feeder on it before I got it.  The wire feeder I jsut got has a 110v receptacle on it already to plug in the wall.  I had a nice lincoln powermig255 but it got stolen and I just dont have the money to replace it right  now so I need to find a way to make this work.  The one question I realy have is there is a lead attached to the end of the gun by the rollers which lead do I need to attach this to.
Reply:It looks just like that but single roll.  My dialarc is 230v single phase if it makes a difference
Reply:I hate to seem like a total idiot but could you explain why my dialarc wont work.  I have seen them on other dialarc's before and they seem to work fine.  I'm not trying to be a wiseass so please dont take it that way i'm just rying to understand what I'm dealing with.  the model off my welder is dialarc 250 hf-pThanks for all the info.

Reply:Sorry, Felon.That machine has been gone for about 4+ years. I still have the cart tho....Its just as well ,the wife would probably leave if i bought another welder,!on second thought.....Relatively speaking, MIG machines have gotten simpler and way more affordable to the average Joe than they were back then. Reply:How well will the Miller regency 200 cv-dc run it?  I found one that I think I can get pretty cheap.
Reply:I can get the regency for $300 and I found a xmt300 with autolink and digital inverter for $500
Reply:I just found out the regency comes with a spool gun also not sure what model but it does have one.
Reply:$300 for any mig with a spool gun included is a good deal. Reply:thanksguys for all the advice.  sorry if I started the thread a litte ignorant about things.  I'm going to buy the regency tomorrow.  Now all I have to do is figure out what control cord I need to run my 10a feeder off of the regency.

Reply:The guy jsut called me and dropped the price on the xmt300 now I dont know what to do. I like the idea of the xmt being able to stick mig and tig mild steel. PLus the guy sent me pics of the regency and it looks a little rough he said it was about 20 yrs old.  The xmt looks like new and is only 7 years old.the more I think about it the more I dont know what to do.

Reply:Well I'm just e-mailed the guy and I'm going to buy the regency tomorrow.  So I guess now I need to get the connector to wire it up.  The guy had the plug in the back of the wire feeder wired up so he could just plug it into the wall I know this is not right but will it work for now.
