Had a bit of practice on the mig at work today , not very experianced at mig have tried it before but you could consider these attempts to be my first real attempts . I think I did ok . Some are junk some are ok . This was my best attempt of the day . Sorry about the pic quality .
Reply:The bead in the second pic looks good. May have took off a wee bit fast at first but the middle is right in there. Looks like it's fairly flat-faced and evenly spread between the two plates so your work angle was right on and you ran it right down the root of the joint. Good job.In the first pic, it looks like you had trouble pointing the wire at the joint on some of the beads and going in a straight line. Looks like you have plenty of heat. Practice moving the torch straight and watch where you point the wire. Where ever the end of the wire is pointed, that's where the weld will go. Point it right into the root of the joint.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:Yeah I agree about how I lost the way , had a bit of trouble seeing in places but once I sorted that I was ok .

I see a couple rect tubes, a piece of flat bar and a square tube...MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op

Reply:Got more junk to post soon from todays attempts .
Reply:More junk from todayMy attempt at tig with a scratch start pretty bad , those scratch starts are a bit of a pain , cant wait to eventually get the chance to use a pedal tig .
Reply:And when I say my junk im not actually calling it junk im just joking , its all learning and practice .
Reply:Try making your beads smaller. That last set are pretty big and it looks like you lost control of the puddle. Run straight stringers instead of big weaves and keep the heat in the short circuit range. Do multiple passes, stacking the beads on eachother, bottom to top, untill the joint is full. You will get alot more use from your practice metal too.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
