I like to sharpen my slag hammer like a knife, and use it gently. The edge lasts a surprisingly long time. A slag hammer has a million different uses.I buy the screw clamp type ground clamps. When I can't fit a grinder in a spot on a rusty old boat, I use 6011 until I burn out all the junk, and cap the cleaned 6011 with 7018.DAG NABIT, I left my tape on the saw.Wild Fire Welding
Reply:When using a scarfing tip set your acetylene regulator gauge at 14lbs, and the oxygen regulator gauge at zero. light your torch and adjust the acetylene mixing valve. Open your oxygen mixing valves all the way. Last step adjust your oxygen at the regulator. This adjustment will give you the maximum heat and the minimum oxygen through the cutting orifice.I learner this from an old timer works great.DAG NABIT, I left my tape on the saw.Wild Fire Welding

Reply:I got one my uncle showed me a while back. Picture a project where you need to find the center of something, could be size, lets say a piece of steel 5 3/4" wide, but cannot seem to find the center, just dont know how to divide it in 1/2. Hook the tape on and angle it down to something you know how to divide by 2, in this case 6". Mark it at the 3, because that is center. Slide the tape back and measure straight across and you will have found the center, mesure from both ends, it will be center. I tryed it on everything and it works everytime!Nothing Ever Got Done By Quitting, Never Give Up. |
