Reply:You need to plant some grape vines on that arbor to soften the edges up a little.  Or is that an exoskeleton for the tornado magnet?
Reply:i am going to put a roof over the trailer
Reply:OK, so you don't need to consider snow load, BUT, I think you need to put some additional bracing in the trusses.  There neds to be a triangular factor for maximum strength. If wind is a consideration, adding a diagonal from post to truss would provide a lot of strength enhancement.Appreciation Gains You Recognition-

Reply:I have an almost identical  roof over my Texas mobile.  Its wider than the trailer, covering a full lenght 8 foot enclosed porch along one side, and a paved patio on the other side as well.  I am on the side of a hill, almost at the top.  The roof has been on probably15 years, and now has a definite 4 to 6 inch "bend" away from the prevailing winds in all the uprights that reflects years of wind exposure.  I wish they had used even 1/4 larger uprights, and preferably double-sized them.  Now it will be easy and cheap for you to re-enforce those uprights, and triangulate them as well.  In my case, we haven't figured out how to staighten the uprights out.  Right now, I'm afraid the roof loads will cause them to bend more and more, and may lead to a collapse.  I thought of super-clamping all the verticals to pull them back into plumb, then welding on sister pieces of angle or channel iron.  Lots of work and cost now, but sure would have been easier to put a little more steel in it back when.  My 2 centavos worth, my friend. At the Lake
