When I was in Highschool I took machine and welding shop 4 years.  We were short on money so we used what we had.   In my latter 2 years we had a DC welder setup with an air cooled Tig torch.     I have a large 3 phase  DC welder in the shop its a Miller and I wanted to know roughly what it migh  cost to be setup for Tig.     I just want an aircooled set up for now to see if i get good at I can always upgrade to a water cooled rig.    basically I want to do some stainless and some thin steel, like old tractor hoods and doing high pressure hydraulic fittings in  hydraulic tanks.    I dont have a good local dealer to speak with a set up.
Reply:Tig torch assy (150 amp, air cool, w/ valve, 2 pc cable) - $125Flowmeter/Flowgauge w/ hose - $100Argon cyl w/gas (depending on size) - $150-$350Good Luck!
Reply:Thanks, I wasnt sure its been several years since I even picked up a Tig torch.    One other question can I use argon Mixed 75/25. I have 2 of those cylinders.  Or I may be able to trade one for a 100 percent argon.
Reply:I have always understood straight argon for TIG and mix for MIG.Someone else my have more specifics.Miller Syncrowave 200
Reply:Must use straight argon!
