Anybody know a source for a Large Dinse Female flow-thru connector? It needs the threaded gas fitting on the backside. I'm wanting to make an extension for an air cooled tig torch. I can find the male connector at just about any place. I can find female connectors, but none of them are flow-thru. The backside has a screw terminals for stranded copper lead (not one piece style)Basically I want.... male flow-thru ---> one piece tig lead ---> female flow-thruBTW last time I tried to special order anything via the LWS I waited two weeks just to have them totally forget I'd ordered anything.Dynasty200DX w/coolmate1MM210MM VintageESAB miniarc161ltsLincoln AC225Victor O/A, Smith AW1ACutmaster 81IR 2475N7.5FPRage3Jancy USA1019" SBAEAD-200LE
Reply:This is the only thing I can think of at the moment. Same Dinse connector for the troch on my 180SD and similar machines.http://miller4less.com/advanced_sear...02813&x=8&y=10MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:I'm not sure if we have what you're talking about... but most of this stuff we have in stock and often ship same day:http://www.arc-zone.com/index.php?ma...=index&cPath=5-----------------------Carmen Electrodewww.CarmenElectrode.comand the boss blogs at www.JoeWelder.comall powered by www.Arc-Zone.com
Reply:Thanks for the replys and ideas.Duaneb55, That one is a panel mount, right? It would probably work, but I'd have to make a housing to cover the electrical parts. Not sure it has matching connections to my hose/lead.CarmenElectrode, I looked through arc-zone's website and they don't carry what I'm looking for.7A749, My hose ends look identical to yours. I'll be getting one of those gas hose connectors and a solid female dinse, and I'll braze it together. I could probably cut off, drill, and tap the backside of the solid female dinse, but I doubt I could get the bevel just right at the bottom to get a gas tight seal. Hopefully I can get the whole thing to fit within the existing plastic cover. It's surprising nobody makes this connector, or nobody makes a flow-thru extension. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants a short lead for 'sit down' work and a long lead otherwise, but doesn't want to buy two torches. The machine is an econotig. I'm thinking to upgrading to either a dynasty 200 or a syncro 250 (can't decide between lightweight, portability and fancy options, or 100 extra amps). Since you mentioned the dynasty isn't flow-thru maybe I should rethink building this extension. If I get the syncro 250 I'll probably be moving to a water cooled torch and I wouldn't use the extension either. I've got more questions than when I started. Reply:7A749, I just looked more closely at your last picture. "Maximum.....capacities must be reduced approximately 20% because of the added length of power cable....reduced cooling efficiency". I could see reduced capacity from having more voltage drop on a longer lead, but I don't see the loss of cooling capacity. Sure, it'll be harder to push the argon through a longer hose, but I'm just going to bump up the regulator to get the same reading on the flow meter. Maybe this only applies to water cooling?!?!Dynasty200DX w/coolmate1MM210MM VintageESAB miniarc161ltsLincoln AC225Victor O/A, Smith AW1ACutmaster 81IR 2475N7.5FPRage3Jancy USA1019" SBAEAD-200LE
