I find I have trouble welding smaller plate to a larger thickness material. I find I get good penetration on the smaller plate instead of the larger parent metal. Any tips?
Reply:Generally you keep your heat on the larger piece to prevent cold lap and make sure you get good fusion. Also keep in mind that you weld should be sized according to the thickness of the thinner material, any more is just a waste.Have we all gone mad?
Reply:Get a good puddle on the thicker piece and wash it over to the thinner one.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
