Leaf Box and Vac Mount

Well here was this weekends project. Needed a heavy duty box for firewood delivery and also to last more than a few seasons of leaves, second wanted to mount vac to truck but needed to leave the hitch open for towing. The dump is power up and down so there will be no slamming of the gate. The rear gate is removable when the bed is fully tilted and is locked into place when closed. For wood delivery a smaller traditional dump gate will be built that will pivot from the bottom. I’ll try to post more images when done (vac mounted and sides on). This was all done with a Hobart G-213 stick welder.

Reply:Looks good. Someone wanted me to build him a frame for his dump for the leaves. He wanted it his way. He just wanted me to add to the cheapo side racks and go up and over with some tube steel. I told him he needs to start with a solid foundation and not a wobbly one. He did not like my answers and my price, so I passed it up and he did too. Reply:Thanks, and yes it does fit out the door… barely. 1” clearance with tires fully inflated. TJ your right on the money with the unit having to be sturdy, the vac and hardware going on the back must be +300lbs. The rear was built to have the most strength to take the abuse of over the road and then when dumping the load transfers partially to the rest of the framework.
