Here is a project I am working on for Navy Pier in Chicago. I will post some more pics once I get the actual top part built.

Reply:Ok finaly got it done. Had a few set backs like someone breaking into my shop and cleaning out all of my power tools, welders, torches and about $2K worth of steel.I Replaced all the tools that I needed to finish the build. It is being delivered to Navy Pier in the morning. I didn't take as many pictures as I wanted because I fell behind schedual do to the theft.

Reply:Thanks for the kind words. I have a security system being put in this week. It will have video and an alarm that is tied to the police.We store everything inside. This is the shop area and it is 80X80 on the other side of the wall that you see is 120'X80 that is all storage. Those trucks are on the shop side getting the oil changed ect. They get put on the storage side otherwise. The two 1 ton dually's sit during the winter the f250 is my everyday driver in the winter.TxRedneck I am running solid wire.On a positive note I got a call from detectives who think they may have the guy who took my stuff. Reply:No problem it's a legit question, Thanks I was sick when I found out. It's a small town so maybe I will get lucky. The people at the local bar said a guy was trying to sell some steel and tools in there but they didn't know who he was. I pressed the issue and told them that they could tell me or the next time I would be in there with the cops. The bar owner asked me to leave. I wrote down every plate in the parking lot of the bar and gave the list to the cops. This was last week on thrusday so maybe the detectives had better luck.Chris Merry Christmas to you and your family as well.Pat

Reply:It wasn't my stuff. Oh well they got a guy who had someone elses stuff so thats good. I am with you people who buy stolen stuff are just as bad as the one who takes it.The cop who filled out the report said you are taking this fairly well. I told him you should have been here last night when I found out, you would have had to arrest me just for what I was thinking I would like to do to this guy. He laughed and said I am sure.If I could have got my hands on the guy in those first few days I might be in jail myself. With time you calm down and think about what the will happen if you do anything and it just isn't worth it. It's just tools yeah it sucks but it's not worth loosing my freedom over. Now if the guy was to get hit by a bus I wouldn't loose any sleep over it.take care and again thank you to everyone have a Merry Christmas.Pat
Reply:man i hope you get your tools back taking a mans tool thats just wrong years back wen i was welding pipe we had some one breaking in to our carsscraching them up breaking the glass then we got lucky he broke in my truck and took the change out of my ash tray it had sig ashes on it from my budyany ways we got to the store for lunch that day and told the girls there what happened thay said that a kid came in with a buch of change covered with ashes thay new the kid so we call the cops thay talked to him he says it was not him cops told me that thay could not do anything i said i will  to days latter the kid age 15 is in the store at break time the girls point him out to us there was 6 of us who cars he broken in there so me and the guys walk over and start a nice talk i ask the kid to do me a favor and keep an eye on our trucks because some one was messing with em i tell him that if we find out whoit was that we would weld them into a 55 gal drum and put it in the swamp he looked white as a sheet but was calm and say he would make shure that it did not happen any more i thank him and that was the last time our trucks got messed with and we never seen him hanging out on that side of town againChuckASME Pressure Vessel welder
Reply:Chopper,That is a GREAT story. you will be telling that one for a long time.  Its one thing to steel from somebody but its 234523452656 times worse to steel tools form somebody.  I am 14 and have about 2500 bucks invested into my tool collection already and i cant imagine somebody riping me off like that.  I think i would cry the most if my sp 175 plus got stolen though. Scuba.. sorry to hear about that.. hopefully your story will turn out like choppers and you can laugh about it a few years from now.Aaron

Reply:Atrain keep that attitude my friend stealing period is wrong but taking away a persons ability to make a living is even worse. I am 35 and when I saw everything that I have worked 17 years to buy was gone I damn near cried myself.I never thought something like this would happen where I am at. My shop is in a little town mostly farmers and everyone knows each other. Security was the last thing I thought I needed to invest in.
