Finished Juliette Balcony

This thing looks so good it deserves it very own thread. I installed it today. Then I took it back down to have it powder coated. The customer wants semi-gloss black. I tried to talk them into rust or copper color but I doubt they will. Anyway this isn't much but it's the prettiest thing I've built.Last edited by TPnTX; 03-27-2006 at 09:13 PM.

Reply:That thing looks awsome. Good work. Hope you kept a template.  Actually I think the flat black will help it stand out. Show your work better.  Just looking at that rock, rust or copper would get lost.
Reply:there are some exterior lights on the front of the house that look really good Sort of a rust color. However you can't really see them in the pic which kinda proves your point.They don't look as good from more than 20' away.Last edited by TPnTX; 03-27-2006 at 09:16 PM.

Reply:Great job.  As stated above I really does complement the house.  Simple, clean and elegant.Hey, I don't know what your codes are. However, in Nashville guardrails are only required to be placed  platforms above 30 inches.  If the platform is lower than 30 inches, then the rail may be less than 36 inches tall.  I don't know what the height of your platform.  Perhaps this will help you in the future, however.Go to the codes department at the counties where you work and get a copy of railing specs  (don't buy a book the change too much).  I have found that it is difficult to get accurate information from other fabricators, because many people build a safe standard.  Most just go by what they have heard or learned or been told while working.  It may save you some money to know the codes.
