Spool gun?? Suggestions.

Hello All.Happy new Year.I'm new here and fairly new to welding as well. I recently bought a Clarke 160 EN MIg and was wonderingwhat kind of spool gun would fit or be recommended to use.I have in the back of my mind to try to learn to weld aluminum.Any suggestions?
Reply:Hi there didn't get a name... I'm not at all familiar with this brand but, what I've found on the internet looks like its not made to adapt a spool gun although it might. They have two other machines that are dedicated spool gun machines (100sq fluxcore spool gun and we6440 fluxcore spool gun). Depending where you bought it from you might check with sale rep. You might be able to run the aluminum wire in this machine like you use the fluxcore wire as long as you have the right size feed rollers, liner and tips. You will also need a regulator setup and shielding gas. I did see it says that it was possilble to covert to gas. Normally I don't recommend using aluminum wire without a spool gun but, sometimes you have to try what you have. Also I did not see anything saying it is made in U.S.A. so might be foreign made making it hard to find parts. Anyway hope that helps a little.Aloha,Wade FreitasCopper [email protected]
