have a chevy duramax that was hit on the side anyway somehow or another something pushed into the side of the oil pans right where they both meet and put a crack on the upper oil pan. As I well know replacing the upper oil pan is one major job. Am trying to think what would be the best solution and if there is any besides replacing that upper pan. I attached a picture(it's right where a bolt hole is), do you think it could be jb welded, or welded?? The inside is barely cracked, not sure how oil could get through but reckon it could find a spot somewhere. Would appreciate any input Attached Images
Reply:I guess you could try to epoxy it or JB weld it, but I can't see how you could get a quality weld without removing it and at least giving it a thorough cleaning. I dunno, maybe if you got it really clean you could get an okay weld on it in place, but if someone asked me to try it I would want it off the truck. |
