No oxygen

I'm new and learning to the use of the acetylene torch.  My torch worked successfully to cut metal for about 20 - 30 hours use then I could not get any oxygen supply when I depressed the cutting lever (i.e. no cutting stream).  I can get a perfect preheat flame, the bottle pressure seems fine (1500 psi oxygen, 150 psi acetylene).  I've tried adjusting my valves in case the pressure readings were off (tried oxygen from 25 psi to 60 psi and acetylene from 3 to 9 psi). I've cleaned the tip even though it looks brand new  but stlll no luck?  What's going on?  what do I try next?Sluggo
Reply:Not sure what torch you have, or how it's made.  Be sure you have the oxygen valve at the base of the torch fully on, and you are adjusting the mix using the valve halfway up the torch.  If you are throttling the oxygen flow with the valve at the base of the torch, I'd expect nothing to really happen when you hit the lever.Dynasty200DX w/coolmate1MM210MM VintageESAB miniarc161ltsLincoln AC225Victor O/A, Smith AW1ACutmaster 81IR 2475N7.5FPRage3Jancy USA1019" SBAEAD-200LE
Reply:Sluggo, have you tried another tip? Many times the cutting tip can actually suck dross/slag up into the cutting orifice and plug it internally, maybe not necessarily within the reach of your tip cleaner. Or, possibly the item that is plugging it is being pushed back into the center cutting orifice when you use the cleaner and when you depress the cutting lever the oxygen then pushes the "plug" back out and cuts off the cutting oxygen once again and doesn't simply eject the "plug". Reply:this happens at my work all the time, when people get slag up in the center hole on the cutting tip and leave it like that.but if you said the tip is clean, then... ;ptry another!
