Reply:nice idea...but dont you think its gonna get heavy...fast?you may need to fabricate a top fuel wing for the back to keep the nose down at speed   ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:panniers?? Over on this side of the pond we call them saddle bags!   All the same but man you did one heck of a job on them. That's nice work. Real neat. They look a good bit stronger than the factory ones on my GoldWing. Reply:If you have open corner joints on the outside you could just weld inside for one inch at the ends and corner intersections where there is a greater stress. Those are certainly nice units.  If you avoided buckling of the panels then the extra weld would not hurt other than the time spent.
Reply:Zapster, don't be funny. YOU KNOW top fuelers use a small FRONT wing to hold down the NOSE . the rear ( BIG)wing is for downforce(traction) on the rear meats. His "paniers" are really nice .
Reply:Nice job T.TThey sure do look better than the shop bought plastic junk.Simonhttp://members.optusnet.com.au/~abba/index.html

Reply:Nice Job TT. What thickness material did you use?
Reply:Just wondering with all the bumps and bounces if you are going to be lining the inside with something to keep from scratching extra helmets etc.?

Reply:A lot of the dual-sport people in the US still use the term "panniers" to refer to these type of bags.  That is, sturdy aluminum boxes that will be used both on and offroad.Incidentally, that's excellent work.  I almost wish I had a bimmer so that I could build something similar.-Heath
