We had one of customers come in last week with a 40ft container skell that was only set up to carry 40 footers and wanted us to modify it so it could carry 2 empty 20ft or one loaded 20 ft container(25-27 ton's loaded ) this job meant cutting slots in the chassis for the beams to slide through then square them up you only have a + or - tolerance on the diagonal mearsurement of 1/8" so a bit of time is loss checking and triple checking before the welding starts the beams used to carry the 2 empty 20s were 200 UB's there the centre beams and for the loaded 20 ft we used one 200 UC and fabricated one out of 130x16(5x5/8) flat as at the front of the trailer near the landing legs as you can't buy a beam small enough and strong enough for the area you have to work with Attached ImagesCreative metal Creative metal Facebook

Reply:I find painting something I have just made quiet rewarding, time consuming but rewarding. I like to stand back and admire something I have made from nothing more than an idea and some steel. But I would not mind some spray painters to finish my work for me.Simonhttp://members.optusnet.com.au/~abba/index.html |
