im considering going to Tulsa Welding School and was wondering if it was one of the best welding schools at there or is it just alot of hype? Thanks
Reply:TWS has a good reputation for turning out skilled welders. I've known three who attended and two were good, while the other spent most of his time at recess.Like anything else in life, you will get out of it what you put into it. Work hard, pay attention and ask questions when you don't understand or know how. Reply:I went there in the early 80's. The instructors were top notch, and most out of Local 798. I think it has been sold since I went there, but there are a couple of members here that are going there now you may want to contact and get their opinion.
Reply:My son worked for me as he grew up and was a fine welder. He went to TWS and graduated as "Top One". I feel it made a great improvement in everything he does.It was expensive IMO. It was a good education tho. The hype that they put out about job placement is just that...hype. If you are not a motivated self starter save your money.Plan on having to work while you attend as well unless you have a bunch of money saved.Do the entire program or simply don't go. The last of it is what makes the difference on taking it to the higher level of skill. He attended in 2001-2002.HTH....GarryMiller Dynasty 700Miller 350P with Aluma-pro push-pullMiller 280 Dynasty with expansion card Dynasty 200 DXMigMax 215 Enuff power and hand tools to create one of anything..... but mass produce nothing!!!
