I am fixing to buy some new hoses for my torch. I currently have 3/16 diameter hose and was wondering if there are any advantages or disadvantages to going to a 1/4 diameter hose. Thanks in advance for your input.
Reply:The larger hose is less nimble, but allows higher flow rates. For heavier shop work, the larger hose will also be more durable. If you're doing light precision work that requires lots of torch manipulation, the smaller hose may have an edge for you.Compare fitting sizes too.Good Luck
Reply:The only time you will need to go bigger is for extended lengths and/or cutting thicker materials where you need more volume. For example, if you are buying a 25' of 3/16" and plan on using a # 0 or # 1 tip, you will be fine."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man" |
