48"bucket rebuild

This is a 48" bucket of a 200 komatsu i rebuilt early this spring for one of my customers.It got a new floor pc. 1/2" hr plate 50"x 40" all 4x3/4" thick AR400 wearbars on the outside and a new esco cutter w/ all new shanks ans side cutters built out in the other photo with more of the 3/4"AR 400 Attached Images

Reply:Nice work. I used to build CAT excavator buckets about 9 yrs ago but then they went to Mexico and now they're built in Waco, TX using robotic welders.

Reply:Brought it in from site w/ my f-350 pu and unloaded it w the boom in my shop it is pictuted in the thread titled cool stuff you built for your shop.As for 6010 Lincoln innersheild NR-212 wire.
Reply:Hello amdswelding,  Im rebuilding teeth on A WA 490 Loader at work, the machine is about 1200 hrs old.Where i work we have a mill that  grinds slag a from a blast furnace,The slag is the by product, around 30,000 tonnes every three months is ground in the mill. The slag is delivered by ship again around 30,000 tonnes at a time and the loader is used to load  the raw slag into our silos for production. Granulated blast furnace slag is very abrasive, and it doesn't take to long to chop out a set of teeth, so we have to keep up the Hard face on them, and just about every thing else. Are the teeth on the 200 bucket going to get hard faced? What the!!!
Reply:this is a picture of the slag stock pile at work, the yard is almost empty, theres about  four to four and a half thousand tonnes here, and the other  picture is one of the roller tyres out of the mill ,this weight just over two ton you can see were the hard face has worn away this one is cracked and had to be replaced. the roller tire's gets hard faced in the mill, i set a gear box up to turn the roller when welding and a jig to hold the torch, (mig trigger) then its just a matter of setting the amps and flicking the switch, i havnt got picks of this process i will take some and post them when i do it again   What the!!!

Reply:No hardface on these teeth but if i were i would use LIN-CORE 50 or 60- 1/16 dia.wire.
