Fix The Mower..

A little side job today also..commercial lawnmower that the owner ran the exhaust chute into a stump and tore it open..this thing was filthy..covered in grass and whatnot..heres the problem..this is after much air hose blasting and grinder treatment..in order to do this it needed a new top piece 1"X3"X1/4" clamped to the top to "suck" the higher piece back down..fluxcore machine all the way with this job..no way tig or stick for that matter would suffice..fluxcore is the only way sometimes..finished and ground..next.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:"this thing was filthy..covered in grass and whatnot"welcome to my world, i work in a small engine shop and NOONE in the history of the world knows how/cares to clean the clumps of grass, mud, bugs, dead mice etc... from their machines.ok maybe a bit of an exaggeration, i have seen some machines that get washed some even get waxed, but they are few and far between.i am curious why you chose fluxcore for this, my inexperience would lead me to the stick machine if i didnt have confidence mig would suffice, and leave my "emergency" fluxcore roll for when i decide to run out of argon and forget to refill it.my guess is that its because of the contaminants on the mower deck (dirt rust paint) that may invite themselves to the party in the puddle
Reply:pretty much LuzRDfluxcore combined with sheet metal and what i used for a brace concidering how filthy the thing was to me was a no brainer..fluxcore machines (when running right) can be a wonderful thing in certian situations..besides the stick machine is 100 feet away..i'm not unwrapping and re wrapping all that cable... ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
