my brother drooped this off for me to try out my TIG skills on. its aluminum and he was lost as to its chance of survival . so i said i would give it a try. and i did it with a little bit of the 4 letter word usage but did it just the same. i still think this thing was cast aluminum. any way it and the extension tubes he wanted added were not of the same alloy any way. and to add insult to injury i decided to stand it up and do it as a vert weld, and cause myself to stand and work the foot control. ok seems pretty simple to some of you i am shore but for me it was a real doozy. i should have just layed it down and done a 1/4 at a time but figured i would give it a try and see if i could do it. so here are the pic's 1st is it as it arrived,2nd is the broken off end,3rd is the other end that will be cut off, 4th is the finished piece. as my brother is always broke like me this was his only chance of getting an oil cooler back in his truck after having to change out the main radiator to one that he could get instead of what was in it. as a result no cooler for the oil so i needed to add new ends to allow this to be the cooler. he is now just looping the oil but is very happy to be getting a cooler back.
