Reply:In a proper Adflo system the helmet shell does not have the vents in the front. There seem to be a few bits that make it up just inside the helmet.Headgear with flo system, seal in front of that, chin seal which also seals the side.I have a parts breakdown some where if your interested.  I'll have to look for it, i know its somewhere.  JUst let us know if you do.I do too have a Adflo and im now looking at the new one.I also have the 9100XX.............i just cant help myself

Reply:All the guys at my job have 2 hoods.  We all have SG as our main hoods and Millers as our back ups.  None of us new that a head of time.  We just one day were talking about what we had for back ups if our hoods went black.  As for the Adflo, we can not talk the company into shelling out 1500.00 per hood for our " Health and Safety".  They told us that they spent over 5K for some POS air vent system that works for only one person at a time.  So that is why I am trying to find just the PAR system to add to our hoods.I am tired of Ketchup, I want the Gravy...
Reply:My experience with AdFlo hoods are really not that good. We had used 6 systems round the clock 7 days and the weldors were getting flashed in the eyes the little rubber stops for the shield fell out the head gear broke down and we couldn't get replacement parts w/o buying the complete head gear. I do not believe you can install just the fresh air part into a regular helmet if that is what you are asking because there is an interior compartment for air movement. For the amount of money you spend I wouldn't reccomend the helmet for constant daily use, get a respirator it's more durable.Weldor/ Certified Inspector

Reply:Pics of parts of the Adflo system ( helmet only, forgot to take pic of belt and blower )1st....Helmet front.  Note shell does not have vents.2nd...Head gear with pipe attachment3rd....Chin seal4th....Front seal.  Where headgear seals to shell.Maybe the newer models have vents?I thought the idea of having no vents is so that the fumes cant enter the front, but if it has positive pressure, the air would only push out.Tried to use the helmet a couple of times without the belt and chin seal on and i almost passed out after a few beads.  Now if i use it without the blower, i leave the chin seal off. Reply:Thank you Larry, I guess time has fuzzied my memory on that detail of the other helmets. Last one I saw was in '05.4:45 am local time, and I already learned something new today. Later,Jason
