Here's some photo's of the torch cart I built in August. I used 1 1/2 inch 14 gauge square tube, and some scraps I had laying around. I just bought the torch in June and have never used one, so I was worried that the "B" tank would not be large enough. To cover my bases I used a 1/2 inch wide piece to hold the tank steady, now if I need to go larger on the acet. tank I can just cut it out and paint over where the welds were. When I started I had no idea what I was going to build, I actually went to Lowes and purchased a doll to use but ended with this from scratch. Attached Images

Reply:Looks good. I was going to ask if it were for smaller bottles but it looks like you could fit larger ones as well - COOL !John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:looks great, you went to a lot of trouble to make a nice cart for it. mine is much smaller but it had to mount onto my all terrain welder cart also. but i will be making a new one soon. did you consider 8" rubber tires or will it be staying on concrete.first pic is just my oa and 2nd is it on the welding cart. i just upgraded to an 80 for oxy. that too makes me want a new cart also. well add that to the fact i just got a TIG also and my old altering cart is getting too full, time to remake the hole ball of wax i think. Reply:Hi Fun4now,  I figured It probably would allways be on concrete, at least 99% of the time. I wanted to use larger tires but a buddy told me he wouldn't recommend it. I got those from the home depot lawnmower section they are 7" ones. By the way, I've been all over this forum and I did see your cart, it looks good.  What are the tank covers for? Like I mentioned I'm green at O/A equipment.
Reply:Really nice job on the cart, o.c.d.It looks really well thought out and clean.- Paulhttp://all-a-cart.comWelding Cart Kits and accessories
Reply:i got tired of looking at the ugly tanks they kept giving me so i had the wife make up some covers. it doesn't matter if you own or rent you still get what ever tank they give you at exchange time. i figured it was a nice touch to add the cartoons to them. the acetylene tanks are the worst but the oxy tanks can look pretty bad too. i figured i spent a lot of $$ on my welders so covering them to keep the crap out to keep them working good and looking good was well worth it and as the covers for the welders look good it only seemed natural to try to keep my O/A rig looking good also. the covers on my welders are a good investment encase i ever resell them to upgrade they will still look brand new, the tanks not so much for resale as just for looks. i still have a few $100 invested in them but after painting them once the guys at the exchange said not to do that as it looks like im trying to cover a flaw in the tank and if it was not for the fact it was the tank they gave me be for they would not have taken it. thoroughbred wont take a freshly painted tank so the only option was to cover them.we just started making gage covers so i will have then covered soon too. the gage covers came from a guy that has a body shop and dose some painting and asked if i could make him some thing to keep the over spray off the gages, so we started making them too. i figured scene i was starting new carts for all my welders i would star making new covers for every thing at the same time now that i have this new fabric. so i got 3 welders,3 cable's,4 gages, and 4 maybe 6 tanks to cover.  i'm going to hold off a bit on the tanks, i just got a Co2 tank and its in being tested if it passes i'll turn my MIG to running C02 and use the 125 & 80 for TIG, if i don't like C02 or the tank fails i'll be renting a 155 for TIG and aether keep the 125 as MIG and use the 80 and the 155 for TIG or maybe go 80 for MIG and 125 & 155 for TIG ?????? all depends on the C02 tank. but i think if the Co2 is a no go i'll keep the 125 as MIG and do the 80 & 155 for TIG. the 125 should give me plenty of time on MIG and the 80 will just be a back up for TIG encase i run the 155 out on a weekend.HUMMMM... that was a lot of answers you didn't ask for hu. LOL.the short answer is i covered the tanks for looks.  i have a victor set of torches so i will not ever have to sell them to upgrade, as i can get parts and service for them almost any where. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
