I have been looking into getting AWS certified, but the more I look into it the more confused I get. I'm currently a student at San Francisco State University, and have some practical welding knowledge and skills, but we don't have the equipment or staff available to really have anything beyond that.I'm unsure what classes I would need to take in order to be prepared to take a certification test. Are there any particular requirements in terms of logging hours or just showing you've been instructed? In terms of the actual certification, I was told that if the instructor of whatever course I take is certified I can just take the test at the end of the course, and there is no need to do anything extra. If I don't have an instructor that is certified to give the test where do I go/what do I have to do in order to get certified?Lastly, if there are any bay area locals who can recommend a place to get good instruction I would deeply appreciate it.Sorry if these are kinda silly questions, but thank you for any answers you can provide.
Reply:The cert test is how well you weld and the test specimans are looked at for there physical quality. Thers several differnt certs, kinda depends what you want to do. I'm somewhat in your area, and know some testing places, leave me a phone number somehow, and i'll calll you. |
