Car nut projects

Here's a couple pics of another project I've been working on for the past few years. I'd guess I have 200-300 hours into it. It's made from scraps I had around and modeled after the 76 Datsun 280 Z I have in my garage. It's made of solid steel and weights about 40 lbs. The Countach is modeled from a 1:24 scale plastic model. Both are 1/6 scale..about 2 feet long

Reply:Wow, thats freaking awesome. Did you make the wheels and the little bottles in the back as well?
Reply:The tires are made from 2 pieces of 1/2" wall pipe slipped one inside the other and welded together, the rims are made from a 1 lb propane bottle that was cut 1/4 wider than the tire and hammered over to create the lip of the rim. The nitrous tanks were 3/4" solid rod that I turned down on my lathe and welded a small nut on top of for a handle. The lines are a couple of coat hangers.

Reply:thats cool!!i've used tig rod for model car chassis also..(you guys would $hi+ if you saw my stuff..if they were real they would run..)my house is filled with plaques and trophies from model car contests from the '90's...my stuff has been in scale modeler..plastic fanaticand car modeler magazine...well i just had to get one out and take some pics...firebird super comp car i built in '97 (i think)250 hrs into this..and all i ever built was 1/24 scale stuff...just like a real car...nose / doors / rear deck comes off..the wiring is correct..firing order and everything...plumbing..brake lines..air shifter you name it its in herei've built cars that the only thing i saved out of the box is the body..everything else scratch built..and i have a whole display case full of stuff..i retired from model cars back in '99i'd show up at a contest and people would take their stuff off the contest table..because i showed up.. so i did'nt want to be "that guy" so i just quit..just like that..no regrets..i came i sawi kiked ***it was time to move on.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:wow thats some realy cool stuff guys. i should post a link to this for the guy that said why would you want to weld 2 beer cans togather, some things are just for showing off, and you guys defenetly have some stuff good for that. Reply:Thanks guys, feel free Fun4now it would be an honor. Here's a question for everyone. IF I was to sell this stuff (which I doubt I will) what do you think it would be worth? Check out my other post on my metal eagle project. My feeling has always been that I couldn't get enough out of it to make it worth my while, I'd love to be proven wrong. Thanks for the feedback.
