hey guys is this a good tig weld im not sure it was run left handed cause i cant bend over the pipe right to see to do it right handed
Reply:If you want feedback you going to have to get an in focus picture of the weld. if you camera has a macro setting (icon is usually a flower) try it with that.Have we all gone mad?
Reply:I guess it looks ok... an in-focus picture would be a big help though.

Reply:I use both my left hand and right hand when tig welding a 6G pipe test. Many guys do both sides with the torch in the same hand but I feel I get better results welding with both hands. Reply:I'm left handed myself. In all the 6g tig tests I've done, we were never restricted to welding with one hand only.My left hand is my dominant hand but I can weld just as well with my right hand.If virticle up only technique is required for your 6G test, It is best to be able to do it with both hands. If you are allowed to weld virticle down on your test, welding with your dominant hand on both sides of the pipe is a piece of cake. You can go up on your good side, then down on your bad side. Virticle up on each side of the pipe with the same hand is a different story. Visibility is not good and makes for a more difficult weld going up on your bad side.Welding with both hands is a very good skill to have mastered. It will do wonders for you on in plant pipe welding jobs were your up in the air on scaffolding, in a tight situation where you cant get all the way around the pipe with your good hand.Last edited by snoeproe; 02-27-2010 at 01:45 PM.JasonLincoln Idealarc 250 stick/tigThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 52Miller Bobcat 250Torchmate CNC tableThermal Arc Hefty 2Ironworkers Local 720
