Todays fun is no diffrent than any other day..Got some more machine chucks to rebuild..note the edge..its just about gone!!so now..what we do here is just turn whatever is left off and clean the face of the chuck..here it is cleaned and grooved..now i know from experience that the edge is 1/2" wide and 3/8" high..so i put a groove where the new edge will end up and beveled the back for weld..now as before we start the new edge where the drive key starts and continue with the "heat and beat" portion of our program..boy did that get hot!!next post.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:heres the new edge from the backside..notice i did not bevel the new edge..front or rear..its not needed because 300 amps will give me enough heat to melt it all nice nice together..heres the front welded..this was done in one pass..300 amps red end tungestion..1/16 70-S2 filler..and it took about 1 1/8 worth of filler wire per dip..tomorrow i have to weld up the whole face and re-machine to spec..i'll post pics of the complete part tomorrow..or when i get around to finishing it..i think i have a huge roller to machine tomorrow..i think.. i get all the fun jobs.. ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:I hope that IT- idjit sees this.  You do know how to weld, boy do you know how!! Beautiful work,BTW how did I get to Journeyman, I'm an angle grinder operator who welds just to get something to grind!My angle grinder is my best friend!
Reply:This may sound stupid or something but....ever used a MIG gun with 1/16 wire (without the gun being "hot") to dip the wire while TIG welding? I just came up with that since you´re running out of filler metal, maybe that would be easier...well maybe that would be against the "TIG work of art"BTW nice work Zap...couldn´t believe you didn´t have a TIG from long time ago.My Babies: HF Drill pressHF Pipe Bender3   4.5" Black and Decker angle grindersLincoln Electric PROMIG 175that´s it!
Reply:there ya go put the part on a turner and hit both buttons and go, your robotic TIG welding.would be a bit cumbersom without the part turner though, i wonder if you could get the wire feed rate slow enough?? summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
