Hey guys Im looking at purchasing an older miller bluestar roughneck welder. Im wondering up to what size rod it will burn. Its shows ratings up to 225 amp but to change the amps you plug your leads in different slots. The guy told me it wont burn a 1/8 rod which doesnt sound right but I think he was trying to burn a 7018 and if memory serves me thats a d/c rod. Im not sure but wasnt all bluestars ac/dc or were some just ac and I dont need much of a welder just something I can throw in to patch fence so can yall give me some information things i should be aware of other than techumse is not in business anymore thanks.
Reply:If you can figure out what model it is you can look it up here. http://www.millerwelds.com/service/ownersmanuals.phpAs I recall some are AC only or maybe all of those are, should have no problem with 1/8" rod whether it is or not...... will need 7018 AC rod though, that could have been the problem if it is an AC only machine.HH 187Miller Bluestar1EAHP AlphaTig 200X |
