Question about Hobarts

I posted this over on the mig/tig forum, thought I'd ask over here as well. Could someone tell me, does Hobart make just one version of each of their welder models or do they have one version that they sell to welding supply shops and one version that they sell to the big box stores? Or does Miller look at Hobart as their big box version?"Offerings to the God of Speed"
Reply:I would say there's some sort of difference,say TSC, they tell Hobart they want 10,000 units of there HH180 and they want them for this price,you know to do it Hobart would have to cut corners someplace to meet that price.just like walmart does,this is what i was told and it makes sense.that being said when i ordered my 230 i ordered it from my LWS when my local TSC had one on hand, i had to wait 2 weeks to get it because my LWS supplier was out of stock,they had to wait for manufacture to play catch up,picked it up yesterday with a nice fresh build date.HOBART IronMan 230 MIGSmith Lifetime WH200 HD O/A Torch
