I just bought a welding/work table. (came out of an old manufacturing company.)It has a 1" plate top. I applied paint stripper and removed a couple layers of paint, and then found this...It appears to be a very thin layer of steel on top of the 1" plate... I say steel because the chips will stick to a magnet...Is this a coating or do (did) some types of plate have a very thin layer ? The plate underneath is great. but that thin layer on top is chipped from years of use..It is a major pain in the azz to get it off... I'm afraid I may have to put the angle grinder to the whole table... any ideas? Attached ImagesMiller 211Hypertherm PM 451961 Lincoln Idealarc 250HTP 221 True Wisdom only comes from Pain.
