Having a hard time finding any information on a comparison chart between TD Cutmaster 151 and 152. Are they the exact same thing other than year made? I know 152 has a 4 year warranty, and 151 has a 3 year warranty.Reason I ask is that I have the opportunity to pick up a 151 for $1400, and it comes with a cart and moisture filter (and hand torch). I can pick up a new Cutmaster 82 for about $1900 (which is really all the torch I need anyway). Just wondering if I should pop for the new one (where I know how it will be treated), or take my chances with the 151 (plan on getting a written guarantee that it is in good operating condition). Also, just want to know if there are features I will get with a cutmaster 82 that I wouldn't with the 151 (I know the 151 is a 100 Amp machine and the 82 is 80 amps, but I am referring to other possible differences)Your thoughts?
Reply:The new models are a little smaller, lighter, and easier on the power. My experience comes from comparing a cutmaster 81 that I own and an 82 that I had at work.My name's not Jim....

Reply:Hmmm, the guy purchases it over 4 years ago, and claims that it works (will allow me to test it), but wont provide any guarantees. I think I will pass on it. If I spend that much money, I think I will want the warranty. I plan on picking up the cutmaster 82 new.
Reply:You ought to be happy with it. I've cut over an inch thick steel with my 81 and the 82 has more oomph. They will both trip a 50amp breaker if cutting thick stuff for extended periods. I think I could make it through about 4 ft of 3/4" and then the breaker would trip.My name's not Jim.... |
