my first plasma project

i was going threw some of my pic's and came acrost this. its the first thing i made when i first got my plasma cutter. it took quite a bit of time to make but came out realy nice, i intended to add a glass top to it but as i got news of a new babby on the way it did not seem like a good idea to have a glass table. its all free hand cut , no fancy computer controle stuff here just time and some file work after i was done cutting.just thought i would show what cool stuff you can make free hand with a plasma cutter. the white pre-drilled backing is about 1" below the top black part, i used an ingraver to put the POW*MIA design on it to cut out.it was a lot of fun to make and maybe some day it will make it into a liveing room near you. so if you have been thinking of getting one, go for it they are great fun and the possibility's are endless, even without a computer controling it. Reply:Nice job heres a helpful hint I got from a friend who does similar work he drills holes for where he wants to start so to limit slag and blowing to much steel out.

Reply:i usualy just start inside the fall out pice and curve out to the cut line. i do have a little truble keeping a stedy hand though, not shore what might be causing that.  with the drilling neded for this one i would have spent about 3 Hrs drilling holes  i use a spectrum 125-C so it cuts a nice small starter hole on its own i just start about 1/16 inside the line and then off i go, it was a little harder on the smaller version i made for holding my flag pole. Reply:cool i was looking for this one, it was a lot harde when i went down to the trailor hitch size.  but i was verry pleased with the final result, i dont think you could cut this babby out with O/A. if you did odds are good all the heat needed would just worp it into a ball. this one plugs into the 2" receaver of my truck. Reply:The only way people will pay a higher rate is if it is custom work or something no manufacturer offers go figure.

Reply:i have never seen a POW*MIA trailor hitch ?? so i figured it was a good idea ??? may just be most people that use hitches up here leave them in due to the salt on the roads befor long its rusted in and stays there. others dont even use them. i supose they might do better if i had stayed in AZ. Reply:i made this tigger a wile ago just copied it out of my wifes collering book. the trick is to remember not to close off any lines or the pice will fall out.
