Reply:Nice trailer, looks heavy for a quad unless you made it from aluminum. I believe most quads limit is 1000 pounds. Its a nice one though.Bill
Reply:Any issuses with the axle so far back?  Did you have plans or just buld it from past practice?

Reply:Originally Posted by DsykesI built a 3'x 5' trailer for my ATV.  I put the axle towards the back also, it really helps when going up and down the gulleys.  The first one I built had the axles in the middle, whenever I would go across a ditch the back end would drag.
Reply:Hate to break everyones hearts but this trailer is to be pulled behind a 1/2 ford  pickup hauling 2 quads. the reason the axle is so far back is to do 2 thing's 1) cut down on sway and 2) add tongue weight. this trailer tracks really nicely and is made of steel. And just like tuck said this artic cat 700 can pull I have a 650 and it has boo kuu power veroooom!!!!!!!!!!.http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/turtle...cd.jpg&.src=ph
Reply:I have a AC 500 on 28's set up for MUD.

Reply:A rule of thumb I use when building a trailor for road use.Single axle ... 12" past centerline to the rearTandem axle.. Front axle 6" ahead of center to the frontThis always seems to give good tongue weight and tracking.
Reply:Thats fine but the reason I installed the axle further back is to add tongue weight and in tracts rather nicely.
