I've said in the past if we get arms..cylinders etc. etc. that need to be rebuilt that we usually bore/sleeve the assy unless the customer wants the bores welded..In this case they want the bores welded..Arms..As per usual you have to clean off the grease/oil/yuck before you start..and do yourself a favor...Dont just clean the bores.. ..clean the whole thing..because you know as well as i do the second you have to move it YOU WILL find that blob of grease with your filler hand..glove..whatever and then you have another mess to clean up.. Cleaned bore.. Now what I like to do is weld a "ridge" around one side of the bore..gives you a good starting point..Then with the ridge side down you weld from the bottom to the top untill done..After that you do the ridge thing on the top and then its done with no "missed spots"...Note the size of the cup on the torch..I ground down the opening to "half way" so i can get the torch into bores that dont have much room to get into..but if you try to grind down a cup be warned..its not easy..And there you have it..Now just do it 3 more times... I get all the fun jobs.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
