Reply:Well I had a little revision that makes all the difference (I think) I decided to lap the flames instead of it being a flat piece.  I beat the whole thing out a little too.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools

Reply:Very nice  Try something...Set your sound system how you like it without the grilles on..shut it off..leave it alone and put them on...Turn it on again and see how much bass you'll loose..and yes you will loose...big time.. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but there's a reason why speakers in recording studios have nothing on them at all...not even fabric.. I've spent enough time in them.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:the 3d flames are unrealalso fabric and other items act as low pass filters. and i thnik there is enough air flow through those wide flames not to impede the woofers.the worst outcome would be a resonating noise, which i doubt will happen and if it does i doubt it would be loud enough.there are some formulas on the net to work out how much a signal can be impeded in a speakerbox by certain things. but if its going in a car sound quality doesnt matter anyway heh.
Reply:Nice job LF.  I like the flame job and the overlapping was a great touch.  Zap is probably right about the bass, but just do what we always do when things arent' flowing good, TURN IT UP!!Hobart 140 Handler w/ gasHyperTherm Powermax 380 Plasmaoxy/acetylene
Reply:those covers look great. how did you get them to over lap ?? just heat and bend a lil at a time?you planing on doing a lil air brush painting on them or just staying black??great job, you should be proud of them. verry cool, supper cool. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:I was wondering about the sound with the grills on. I haven't even put em on yet, I still need carpet and ain't had time to mess with it.  On the overlapping flames, when I first started they weren't lapping.  It was all flat and I cut and spliced in some more pieces I cut out.  The first pics were when it was flat.  I will put some pics of where I was building it later.  I figured I'd get some questions on the piece between the base and the top.  That was probably the most involved piece.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools
Reply:so you added in flame flickers cut sepretly, cool. looks good. its open enough i dont think it will efect the sound much if at all.nice work. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.

Reply:Those things look nice. The only thing you may have to worry about is the subwoofer moving in and out some subwoofers have alot of travel. Will   Supports Autism Awareness                            My ToysBobCat 225 PLusMillermatic 130Miller Spectrum 300 CutmateEverlast Power Tig 185 Micro April is Autism Month .

Reply:i would think with that size speeker the magnets will be about 8" away from the front grill but he could remake in SS now that he has had a chance to practise. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:I was gonna use SS originaly but didn't have quite enough to finish it.  It would've looked good polished.  I'll put those grills on sometime, whenever I get off my lazy butt DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools
