I thought it was time I posted a few of my little repair and fabrication projects.  These projects take place on an open-air rear patio.  Some of these welds are close to a year old, and I feel that I'm more experienced now  It's a little sampling of some stuff I've done.I don't have a pic of my Jeep seat I fixed (couldn't handle my 6'7" 300lb frame bouncing off road   ) or my boat trailer repair or a few other things.... but here goes....***************************************Lincoln AC225 stick welderLincoln HD100 WeldPak flux core wire feed welderThree of the cheapest grinders money can buy
Reply:Here is a chicken coop frame.  Since the neighbors dog killed 'em and we're moving... it's up for sale (scrap prices). The angle iron frame holds a slide-out floor, and the sides were four scrap pieces of structural insulated panels (that OSB and foam stuff).  The ends were triangle pieces of plywood that came off with just two lynch pins... easy to get the eggs.  The floor has a dropping drawbridge style ramp that I can close to keep them in/out.  The legs were wrapped with hardware 1/4" wire to keep animals out  Attached Images***************************************Lincoln AC225 stick welderLincoln HD100 WeldPak flux core wire feed welderThree of the cheapest grinders money can buy
Reply:Here is the gate for my chicken run under construction... but it'll be something else for someone else once we move.***************************************Lincoln AC225 stick welderLincoln HD100 WeldPak flux core wire feed welderThree of the cheapest grinders money can buy

Reply:My 16'x16' shed I built. The doors are framed with 1"x2" thinwall (.063") rectangle DOM tubing, with weld-on hinges, and 3" strap steel door jambs bolted into the door opening with 5" long lag screws.Doors are skinned with t1-11 siding.  First door closes and a bolt goes up and one goes down, locking it in place.  Then the second door closes against it and has an exterior galvanized fastener that can be locked.Door frames are 45 degree cut and welded, with two cross-braces each.  First door that closes has an inside latch too, so when I'm working inside I can close the door. Reply:I purchased this trailer kit from Harbor Freight ($225 or so) and put it together.  It needed sides so I used 1" angle iron to make the uprights and the top rail.  Some expanded metal sides and done !The picture may show the difference in the paint... some really faded and some nicer.  The nicer red paint was paint (rustoleum) I shot on the exp metal and uprights and top rail.  Some overspray covered the factory red... which is faded terribly.  Once we move I'm gonna sand the faded and shoot it so it all matches. It's a 1500 lb trailer with a plywood floor... spare tire mount not completed. Reply:My wheelbarrow had one of those cheesy tube tires... was ALWAYS flat when I needed it.  I ponied up and purchased a solid tire ($29 ouch at Home Depot).Got the tire home, disassembed the front end of the wheelbarrow, cleaned the axle, greased it, go the new hubs greased..... and it doesn't fit.  The old tire wasn't as large (diameter) and it cleared the front end cross-brace just fine.  The new one didn't... not even close.  I unbolted the front crosspiece, cut some angle iron extensions, drilled the extensions for the mounting bolts that hold them to the wood in the stock crosspiece mounting location, welded the crosspiece onto the angle iron extensions, painted them quickly to prevent rust, and called it done !Love that tire.
